A newly constructed 2-story 39,000 SF school facility for grades 3-8, this building and the existing adjacent 7,500 SF K-2 school completes a "campus" for elementary and middle school education.
The traditional exterior forms fit into the context with the other "campus" buildings, while blending with the adjacent residential surroundings.
The new school includes 16 large classrooms and two specialty classrooms, as well as a gymnasium with event seating, commercial kitchen, and administrative and support facilities.
The building is maximized with the rear of the building affronting an existing pond which is edged with a retaining wall and a patio. Dramatic colors brighten the corridors while more subdued accent walls create focus in the classrooms.
